Marketplace FAQ

Clear boundaries for buyers, vendors and research

By Kai Greenspan, Founding Editor

DebtTechIndex in 8 questions: what it covers, how records are built and graded, what the lists mean, what a vendor can and cannot change, and what the site is not.

What does DebtTechIndex cover?

DebtTechIndex covers software, data, payments, communications, compliance, security, and specialist services used by US receivables and debt-collection operations. It is not a consumer debt-support service.

How are vendors and products included?

Records are built from each vendor's own published pages. Every product record shows its source link, the date it was checked, and its US-market grade; a listing is not a certification, endorsement, or performance score. Listing is free for every vendor.

Why do some profiles contain more data than others?

The public record varies by company and product. DebtTechIndex displays only the operational, coverage, industry, history, differentiation, or customer-evidence fields supported by the reviewed source. Missing information is shown as not publicly stated.

Are official vendor websites linked?

Yes. Every product record links to the vendor's own product page, which is also the source of the record's facts, and buyers can request information through the inquiry form on the record itself. Independent review sources are shown as optional search links.

What do independent review signals mean?

G2, Capterra, and Clutch are opened as source searches so a buyer can read reviews at their origin. DebtTechIndex does not copy reviews, combine ratings, or use third-party review scores to order any list.

Does a Top 10 guide rank vendors?

Only on published facts. A ranked guide lists the top ten positions by how many of the category’s core facts each vendor states on its own website, quoted with the page and the date read; it measures disclosure, not quality, and the guide says so. In any guide, positions labeled Sponsored sit above the list, are marked in plain words, and never change the order.

Can a company correct its profile?

Yes. A company can use the claim or correction workflow to submit updated, source-supported information for editorial review. Commercial participation does not change organic ordering or any published fact.

Is DebtTechIndex legal, compliance, or credit-repair advice?

No. Buyers should validate applicable legal, regulatory, security, configuration, contractual, and implementation requirements with their advisors and the relevant provider.

The full rules are in the methodology, the ranking policy and how we make money.
